Stay Casual: Our 2023 Summer Travel Tips

2023 Summer Travel Tips

With numbers of leisure travellers spiking to pre-pandemic levels, we’re predicting a super busy summer travel season.

Whether you’re chasing the sun in the Balearics, going off the grid in a Scandi safe-haven or trying to get that picture perfect selfie along the Amalfi Coast, each trip shares the same trials and tribulations of airport queues, stresses and masses of impatient travellers.

To celebrate the launch of CASUALS Capsule II, we’ve compiled a list of our top travel tips to get you through the next few months.

CASUALS Capsule II is the second iteration of our hugely popular premium sweats collection that originally launched last December.

This collection features a muted palette that is perfect for the airport lounge: Grey Marl, Black and Olive Green. Pair with a light body suit or layer with an oversized jacket for the ideal travel look that promises not only to turn heads, but to keep you feeling your best while on the move.

CASUALS Capsule II launches Friday 16th June.

Before You Go

First and foremost, make sure your passport is in date. Prevent passport woes, should you need to update your passport, you can check out the current expected waiting times here. Word of advice - don’t leave this down to the wire, with mailing strikes and dodgy delivery services, sometimes this can present further delays.

Expect Delays. Last summer, the travel industry was rocked by widespread flight delays and cancellations across all our favourites airlines. Between staffing and scheduling complications and air traffic control issues, this year may be following a similar trend of problematic flying.

Have your liquids and electronics ready to go when you reach the front of the security line. There’s nothing worse than the last-minute panic of having to deep dive to the bottom of your rucksack with beady eyed onlookers pouring on the added pressure.

Double and triple check baggage allowance. Many airlines have cracked down on baggage allowances, making it all too easy to get caught in the trap of having to pay airport pricing for additional luggage.

Money Saving Tips

Book your flights and holidays using a credit card. This method will give you more protection and rights should issues arise.

Let flight alerts be your new best friend. Whether you prefer Skyscanner, Google Flights or an alternative site, turn on notifications to alert you to price drops on trips you’ve had your eye on.

A notion that is weirdly often overlooked, but why not order your toiletries for collection from the airport? This means the weight of all your suncreams, toothpastes, sprays and more won’t be included in your luggage.

Change your money before you go. Better yet, download a reputable banking app such as Revolut or Starling that allow instant transfers at favourably low exchange rates. Gone are the days of pre-exchanging too much currency, only for it to sit at the bottom of your jar waiting to be used again but never quite making it that far.

Essential Air Travel Tips for Summer 2023

One thing to do prior to travelling is to check in on the airports social media channels to stay in the know of what is going on. Twitter also gets hit up to see what fellow travellers are discussing in real time.

Book airport carparks well in advance. Car parks fill up quickly and it isn’t worth the risk of not being able to get a space.  Not for you? Book onto a bus – prebooking and paying in advance can save you up to 50% on your fares compared to paying on arrival, it also guarantees you a seat.

Check in online before travelling and save your boarding pass to your mobile phone. One added precaution is to screenshot your passes too.

Stay safe and please don’t forget the suncream.
